The Miskolc Open Door Baptist Primary School and Kindergarten has officially joined the “Tanítsunk Magyarországért!” (Let’s Teach for Hungary) program, expanding the University of Miskolc’s growing network of community-based educational partnerships.
The announcement was made during a gala and student exhibition held in the university’s main hall, where young talents from both the Baptist school and the Symphonia Art School performed. The event celebrated a shared mission: providing long-term educational support for children from disadvantaged and multiply disadvantaged backgrounds.
“Talent must not only be nurtured, but uplifted,” said Prof. Dr. Zita Horváth, Rector of the University of Miskolc, in her opening remarks. She emphasized the university’s strategic commitment to outreach efforts through the TM program, especially in smaller, underserved communities.
Founded more than a decade ago, the Baptist institution has built its identity on individualized learning and talent development, aiming to provide a future-oriented foundation for students in need.
As part of the collaboration, university students will mentor children from the Baptist school, expanding the reach of the TM initiative and reinforcing the university’s role in social responsibility and educational equity.
An exhibition of the Baptist students’ work is on display in the university’s old main hall through July 4.
