The Senate of the University of Miskolc has unanimously nominated Prof. Dr. Horváth Zita, the institution’s current rector, as its next leader for the upcoming five-year term. The decision was made during a closed-door meeting held on June 19, 2025.
Her current term will end in January 2026. As the only valid applicant in the foundation’s open call, Prof. Dr. Horváth Zita shared her strategic vision with university staff and students earlier this month.
The Senate’s recommendation has now been forwarded to the Universitas Miskolcinensis Foundation, which is expected to finalize the appointment by June 30. The new term is scheduled from February 1, 2026, to January 31, 2031.
