At the 2025 MOZ.GO – Hungarian Motion Picture Festival in Balatonfüred, two distinguished professors from the Hungarian University of Theatre and Film Arts (Színház- és Filmművészeti Egyetem, SZFE) — Lajos Koltai and Gábor Piroch — were awarded Lifetime Achievement Awards by the Hungarian Film Academy, honoring their exceptional contributions to the film industry.
Lajos Koltai, acclaimed cinematographer and director, was recognized for over five decades of cinematic excellence, including his directorial debut Sorstalanság and the award-winning 2023 film Semmelweis. He currently serves as head of SZFE’s master’s program in film directing and was appointed honorary university professor during the institution’s 160th anniversary celebrations.
Gábor Piroch, internationally respected stunt expert with a filmography of over 200 titles, was also honored. Known for his work in films such as Titanic and Szabadság, szerelem, he now leads the Second Unit Master’s Program at SZFE — a globally unique educational initiative launched in 2024.
Their recognition reflects the ongoing influence of the Hungarian University of Theatre and Film Arts on national and international cinema.
