Budapesti Gazdasági Egyetem (BGE) encourages prospective students to carefully consider the order of their university choices before the July 9 modification deadline — a step that could prove crucial in gaining admission to their desired program.
Applications to higher education have increased nationwide, but BGE has seen even stronger growth, with applications rising by 20% overall and first-choice applications up by 30%, making it the second most popular university in Hungary among applicants.
To support students in making informed decisions, BGE uniquely organized a Priority Modification Open Day, where Rector György Andor shared practical insights, Student Union President Bálint Kosztolánczy spoke about freshman camps and campus life, and representatives from student services and faculties answered individual questions. Visitors were also treated to ice cream, lemonade, and cotton candy on one of the hottest days of the summer.
BGE reminds applicants to thoughtfully prioritize their preferred institution and program — even considering self-funded options alongside scholarship placements — and to explore financial support opportunities to secure admission to their chosen field.
