Eötvös József College held its summer graduation ceremony at the Dr. Pósta Sándor Sports Hall, marking a major milestone for graduates across a wide range of programs.
This year’s ceremony honored students completing studies in primary education (including German and Croatian minority programs), preschool education, infant and toddler care, business and management, and various advanced teacher training courses. Many graduates also earned specialized qualifications in fields such as developmental pedagogy, therapeutic physical education, and educational leadership.
Rector Dr. Szilágyiné Dr. Szinger Ibolya praised the graduates for their achievements, emphasizing that the knowledge gained at Eötvös József College is both a personal advantage and a responsibility to create value in the world. Parliamentary State Secretary Róbert Zsigó highlighted the institution’s 155-year history of adapting to regional needs and urged graduates to nurture their talents for both individual success and national progress.
In a heartfelt farewell, Gitta Rablánszky, representing the graduates, expressed gratitude toward faculty, staff, and families, while first-year student Virág Vankó performed a poem accompanied by organ improvisations from Dr. Tamás Kosóczki. The college’s mixed choir, led by Zita Bakacsi, added to the ceremony’s atmosphere with music, including a closing rendition of the Hungarian Szózat.
Special awards recognized outstanding contributions: four graduates received the Rector’s Commendation for exemplary performance, and the Baja Award for Higher Education was presented to educators and partners who supported the college’s mission.
The ceremony concluded with the traditional cap toss, celebrating the graduates’ official entry into their professional fields.
