Following the closure of the Parajd salt mine due to a natural disaster, Hungary-based Edutus University is offering a special scholarship program to support the local community. Through this initiative, five residents of Parajd will receive scholarships to study commerce and marketing at Edutus’s local center in Székelyudvarhely.
Edutus University, a founding member of the Székelyudvarhely University Center (SzÉK), plays a key role in providing Hungarian-language higher education in the region, helping locals earn degrees without leaving their homeland. The new program offers practice-focused, weekend-friendly, family-oriented courses, aiming not only to award diplomas but also to spark lasting positive change in the community.
While the Parajd salt bath reopened in July, the mine remains closed, creating economic uncertainty for many families. By launching this scholarship, Edutus University hopes to turn the crisis into an opportunity for renewal and growth.
