Szeged, Hungary — July 2025
The University of Szeged recently hosted the EUGLOH Staff Days, a three-part workshop series designed to develop international leadership skills and explore the practical use of artificial intelligence. The event brought together academics and project staff from EUGLOH partner universities, including Lund University, the University of Novi Sad, Université Paris Saclay, and UiT The Arctic University of Norway.
The program opened with an online session on June 17, followed by two days of intensive, practice-focused workshops in Szeged on June 24 and 25. The first day addressed effective communication in multicultural teams. Led by Dr Anett Arvay and Luca Csak, sessions highlighted how cultural differences influence teamwork and presentation styles.
On the second day, participants examined the fundamentals of artificial intelligence under the guidance of Zsolt Szanto. Rita Csuri Magosi led a discussion on how AI is perceived across different cultures, prompting attendees to consider its diverse implications.
Unlike traditional conferences, the EUGLOH Staff Days emphasized collaborative problem-solving. Participants worked in mixed teams, debated ideas, and crafted shared solutions. Organizers say this practical approach not only deepened technical and intercultural competencies but also expanded professional networks across Europe.
“By building stronger connections and learning to navigate both cultural diversity and digital transformation, our staff are better prepared for future international projects,” noted event coordinators from the University of Szeged’s Directorate for Academic Affairs.
The EUGLOH Alliance (European University Alliance for Global Health) brings together universities committed to interdisciplinary cooperation on global health issues. The University of Szeged is a founding member, regularly hosting programs that enhance the skills of educators, researchers, and administrative staff across the network.
