Two students from Corvinus University of Budapest, Olivér Lukács and Enikő Árpási, were part of the first-place winning team at the 2025 Global Climate Corps Summer School pitch competition, held at Korea University. The international program brought together 130 students from 35 leading universities across six continents under the theme: “Cross-border Collaboration for the Climate Crisis.”
The students were supported by Dr. Tamás Pesuth, Associate Professor at Corvinus University’s Institute of Finance, who also delivered a talk on the financial and geopolitical frameworks for climate cooperation, emphasizing the role of central banks in green finance.
As part of Team 10, the Corvinus students collaborated with peers from Korea University and the University of Toronto to develop a winning proposal on Sustainability Communication. Their innovative pitch earned First Prize in the final competition.
The summer school included workshops, expert mentoring, and field visits to institutions such as LG Science Park and the Seoul Upcycling Plaza, and covered critical topics like urban resilience, energy policy, climate education, and circular economy.
This achievement underscores Corvinus University’s growing role in international climate education and interdisciplinary collaboration.
