
The Hungarian University of Agriculture and Life Sciences (MATE) delivered its strongest performance yet at the 2025 FISU World University Games held in the Rhine–Ruhr region. Of the 9 athletes representing MATE, 6 reached finals and 4 placed in the top six.
Silver and bronze medals were earned by Patrik Enyingi (400m sprint) and Sára Mátó (400m hurdles), respectively. MATE ranked 9th in institutional performance, surpassing several major universities. It also had the 6th highest number of athletes among Hungarian universities in the national delegation.
Dr. Zoltán Kovács, Director of MATE’s Institute of Technology and Sports Sciences, praised the athletes’ performance and highlighted the success of the university’s elite athlete support programme.
