Budapest, February 12, 2026 – Career success requires more than just lectures and textbooks. Recognizing this, the Budapest Business School (BGE) has launched the 6th edition of its Corporate Mentorship Program, offering students hands-on insights into company operations and leadership challenges.
This year, 77 students have been paired with mentors from diverse corporate sectors. Over five months, students will work closely with mid- and senior-level professionals, exploring real-world questions that rarely arise in the classroom. Topics range from professional dilemmas to career decisions and uncertainties faced by young graduates.
“While we provide the theoretical background, companies bring real market knowledge into the curriculum,” said Eszter Vértesy, head of BGE’s Business and Alumni Relations Office. The mentorship program makes this connection tangible, giving students direct access to industry professionals who provide guidance and feedback.
The program is not about giving ready-made answers. Mentors help students clarify opportunities, understand career paths, and learn to ask the right questions. “Today’s students face many challenges, but they are extremely thoughtful and intentional,” Vértesy added, highlighting the program’s focus on long-term thinking rather than quick fixes.
Although the mentorship formally lasts one semester, relationships often extend beyond this period. Students benefit from ongoing advice, professional networks, and guidance for internships or job searches. As one former participant noted, “My mentor helped me understand not only what I want to do but also what I don’t – and that’s just as important.”
The 2026 mentorship program offers students a unique space to ask questions, reflect, and plan their careers based on real-world experiences, bridging the gap between theory and practice.
