The University of Warsaw has commemorated the 81st anniversary of the Warsaw Uprising with a ceremony at its Main Gate. The event honored the insurgents who fought in 1944 to reclaim the university campus from German forces during the uprising.
The ceremony, organized in partnership with the “Krybar” Combat Group of the World Association of Home Army Soldiers, drew university representatives, veterans, and local residents. It included a tribute at the commemorative plaque on Krakowskie Przedmieście Street.
The university highlighted the historic role of the 8th Group of the Home Army, which merged on August 5, 1944, to form the “Krybar” Combat Group, instrumental in the uprising’s operations.
