The Nyíregyházi University actively participated in the 19th PanyolaFeszt, one of Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg County’s largest summer cultural events, held from August 1–3, 2025. The university’s dedicated booth offered visitors interactive programs and educational games, focusing on heritage preservation and environmental awareness.
Festival attendees enjoyed microscope-based plant and insect studies, science demonstrations, quizzes, and giveaways. Children explored biological samples under microscopes with guidance from Dr. Judit Csabai and Dr. Zsolt Hörcsik, while high school students and their parents learned about the university’s programs and the Teach for Hungary (Tanítsunk Magyarországért) initiative from Orsolya Nyilas and other staff members.
Nyíregyházi University places strong emphasis on preserving natural, cultural, and intellectual heritage, offering unique programs such as the Folk Music and Culture Teacher Training track, alongside modern science courses highlighting sustainability and environmental education.
PanyolaFeszt serves as a vibrant platform celebrating local, regional, and cross-border traditions, blending children’s activities, folk music dance halls, and community-building experiences. The university’s involvement underscored its mission of linking academia with tradition and fostering intergenerational knowledge transfer.
Mayor Zoltán Muhari of Panyola played a key role in supporting the university’s participation. As noted by the university, preserving values—whether knowledge, culture, or natural resources—requires collective effort and shared responsibility.
