On August 07, Széchenyi István University implemented a significant organizational restructuring of its technical faculties, as approved by the university senate earlier this year. The changes are designed to better align with industrial transformations and labor market demands.
Key updates include the integration of mechanical engineering departments and programs into the Audi Hungaria Faculty of Automotive Engineering. Meanwhile, a new standalone Faculty of Informatics and Electrical Engineering has been established, featuring both existing and newly formed departments. The logistics and transport engineering programs have been transferred to the Faculty of Architecture, Civil and Transport Engineering.
Additionally, the Albert Kázmér Faculty in Mosonmagyaróvár launched a new Department of Systems Science. Plans are also underway to establish a Research Center for Emerging Technologies focused on space, quantum, and digital twin technologies.
These structural changes reflect Széchenyi István University’s long-term strategy to boost its global ranking, expand industrial collaborations, strengthen international visibility, and enhance education in AI, vehicle engineering, logistics, and related fields.
