Professor Jesper Ryberg from Roskilde University has been appointed as a new academic member of the Danish Committee on Scientific Dishonesty (Nævnet for Videnskabelig Uredelighed) for a four-year term starting July 1, 2025. The appointment was made by Minister for Higher Education and Science Christina Egelund.
Ryberg expressed his commitment to upholding trust in scientific research, stating:
“It is of vital importance that there is a high level of trust in research results and the scientific world. The committee plays a key role in maintaining such trust, and I look forward to contributing to its work.”
Additionally, the university’s acting pro-rector, Bjørn Thomassen, has been appointed as a deputy member of the committee.
The committee investigates cases of scientific misconduct and consists of eight members and a chairperson, all of whom are recognized researchers from various scientific disciplines.
