
LUT University has appointed Mika Ruokonen as an industry professor specialising in artificial intelligence at its Lahti campus, starting in August. The role aims to strengthen LUT’s AI thought leadership and foster collaboration between academia, businesses, and local government. Funded by several regional foundations and the City of Lahti, the three-year part-time position will focus on supporting AI development from a management perspective. Ruokonen, previously LUT Business School’s industry professor in digital business, will continue to work within the school while expanding AI research and events in the region.
