The University of Jyvaskyla has released a new version of its Moniviestin online video publishing platform, first developed in 2003. The updated platform, launched on August 12, 2025, offers an improved user experience, high-quality automatic transcription for all users, and a redesigned media player.
The current version will run alongside the new one for about a year, with content migration planned to begin in autumn 2025. Essential programmes can be flagged for transfer, while non-essential content will not be moved to streamline navigation. Content from users’ personal folders will not transfer automatically and will be deleted after 180 days unless manually downloaded and re-uploaded.
The university’s digital services team will provide enhanced guidance and support throughout the transition, and further development of the new Moniviestin is planned for the coming months.
