Three high school students from Győr participated in the DME Academy Soccer Summer Prep Camp in Daytona Beach, Florida, thanks to the support of Széchenyi István University’s Győr Innovation Park and its USA Accelerator program. The two-week camp included sports training, English lessons, university visits, professional matches, and excursions.
The students, members of the BE-UNI-QUE Talent Workshop operated by the university and the Mobilis Interactive Experience Center, previously took part in the European Space Agency’s CanSAT competition, developing a miniature satellite. Their dedication earned them the invitation to the United States.
According to Dr. Tamás Kolossváry, head of the Győr Innovation Park, the program is part of a broader initiative to provide international opportunities for talented students, preparing them for a global environment. Participants reported gaining not only sports skills but also improved communication, independence, and confidence.
The next season of the BE-UNI-QUE Talent Workshop will launch in autumn 2025, open to students in grades 7–14 from Győr and the surrounding region who are interested in science, technology, and innovation.
