
On May 15, 2025, the University of Szeged inaugurated two advanced medical laboratories—the Central Sequencing Laboratory and the Ormos Jenő Molecular Pathology Diagnostic Center—at the Albert Szent-Györgyi Clinical Center. Funded by nearly half a billion forints, these facilities significantly enhance rapid genetic diagnostics for critical healthcare cases, including neonatal emergencies, immunodeficiencies, and cancers. University leaders highlighted how this investment accelerates personalized medicine, improves clinical outcomes, and reinforces Szeged’s leading role in regional medical research and healthcare innovation.
