
The Wroclaw University of Science and Technology has improved its position in the prestigious Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU) for 2025. The university was placed in the 901–1000 category worldwide, marking an advancement and reaffirming its standing among the top Polish technical universities.
In this year’s results, the university ranked second among Polish technical universities, tied with the Warsaw University of Technology and just behind AGH University of Krakow. It also remains the only university from Lower Silesia included in the ranking.
The ARWU, also known as the Shanghai Ranking, evaluates over 2,500 universities each year, publishing results for the top 1,000. Institutions are assessed based on six indicators, including Nobel and Fields awards, highly cited researchers, publications in Nature and Science, overall research output, and per capita performance.
Globally, Harvard University secured first place for the 23rd consecutive year, followed by Stanford University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
