Gábor Dénes University has joined the official launch of the UrbanTech Platform, initiated by the city of Miskolc together with HUN-REN SZTAKI, several municipalities in Hungary and abroad, and professional partners. The platform provides a collaborative framework for innovation in urban development, artificial intelligence, digitalization, and data-driven public services.
The goal is to give cities of all sizes access to cutting-edge technologies, knowledge bases, and practical solutions, supporting more sustainable, efficient, and livable urban environments. The initiative connects research, education, industry, and municipalities, while promoting the practical use of AI in city management, transportation, healthcare, public safety, and infrastructure.
Dietz Ferenc, President of Gábor Dénes University, emphasized that the project will help municipalities launch joint initiatives that improve service efficiency, speed, and citizen satisfaction.
Founding cities include Miskolc, Budakeszi, Salgótarján, Veszprém, Debrecen, Eger, Zalaegerszeg, Kaposvár, and Csíkszereda in Romania. An important milestone will be the national conference Artificial Intelligence in the Service of Cities, to be hosted in Miskolc in October 2025.
