Lecturers from the University of Miskolc participated in the SocioculTÚRA program, a field visit organized by the Community Service Office and held twice every semester. The visit included the Open Door Baptist Elementary School in Vasgyári, where participants observed activity-based teaching methods and the Symphony Program’s music classes that support the social integration of disadvantaged children. They also attended a wrestling training session, highlighting the role of sports in building confidence and resilience. The program concluded with a visit to the Lyukó Valley, one of Hungary’s largest segregated areas, providing important context to the challenges faced by many students. The SocioculTÚRA initiative emphasizes collaboration, responsibility, and understanding as essential parts of the university’s mission.
