
Stockholm University recently hosted its Arrival Service Weekend on 23-24 August, welcoming around 400 international students. The event introduced students to Swedish culture, campus life, and university services.
Spanish exchange students Manuel Castellano and Carmen Campos expressed excitement over Sweden’s cooler climate and scenic architecture, contrasting with their home country. Manuel is studying Chemistry, while Carmen focuses on Biochemistry.
German student Vicente Hauke shared high expectations for his Physics studies and plans to learn Swedish. Norwegian students Siri Klaeth, Helene Kristiansen, and Linn Hansael appreciated being close to home while experiencing a larger campus and engaging student life.
International student ambassadors Helena Wu and Zephyr Mao guided the newcomers, emphasizing the importance of participating in campus activities to make friends. Staff from the International Office, including coordinators Pablo Camacho Sanhueza and Hanna Kritz, ensured the weekend ran smoothly.
The Arrival Service Weekend is part of Stockholm University’s Welcome Activities, designed to help international students settle in and feel supported.
