Budapest, May 27, 2025 — The University of Public Service (Nemzeti Közszolgálati Egyetem – NKE) has been nominated for the prestigious University of the Year 2025 Award in the category of Outstanding Sports Activities. The recognition highlights the institution’s exceptional support for student-athletes, including scholarship programs and dual career pathways.
The award ceremony, organized by the Ministry of Culture and Innovation, will take place on May 29 at the Várkert Bazár in Budapest, where higher education institutions will be honored across eight categories — including sports, innovation, and student-friendly operations.
NKE’s nomination is backed by impressive athletic results: Michelle Gulyás‘ Olympic gold, Dávid Losonczi‘s fifth-place Olympic finish, and Sára Fábián‘s World Championship silver and European title. The university’s Ludovika Sports Club hosts 13 departments and 20 sports, and in 2024 alone, organized over 40 domestic and international events, including Olympic Qualifiers and the Pentathlon World Cup.
