Gábor Dénes University launched the Gábor Dénes Memorial Year with a high-profile Artificial Intelligence Conference in Budapest. Marking the 125th anniversary of Nobel laureate Dénes Gábor, the event brought together over 30 national and international experts, government leaders, and corporate figures to explore the current state and future of AI.
The conference introduced Hungary’s free online AI course “MI Jövünk,” developed by the university’s AI Knowledge Center (GDE-MIT), and featured keynote speeches on AI’s role in law, quantum tech, ethics, economics, and education. Notable speakers included Dr. Dietz Ferenc (GDE President), Dr. Tóth Zoltán (Justice Ministry), and Csányi Péter (OTP CEO), who revealed that OTP has invested over 10 billion HUF into AI.
The event also announced the Dennis Gabor AI Hackathon for students and researchers, and showcased innovations from SZTAKI, Infuse Robotics, and XR Coalition. All sessions are available online on GDE’s YouTube channel.
