
8th Velencei-tó Tourism Season Opener Highlights Sustainable Development
The 8th annual Velencei-tó Tourism Season Opener took place at the Halász Castle in Kápolnásnyék, bringing together experts and stakeholders to discuss the future of the lake. Attendees listened to professional presentations covering topics such as the water quality, natural values, and tourism potential of Lake Velence, with insights grounded in both research and practical experience.
Representing our university, László Anzelm Bodrogai, head of the Institute for Active and Ecotourism Research, delivered a keynote speech on tourism at Lake Velence. He emphasized the region’s untapped research opportunities and the importance of scientific approaches in shaping sustainable tourism strategies.
The event highlighted that Lake Velence and its surroundings continue to offer significant potential — both as a natural treasure and as a site for future-focused tourism and environmental research.
