
The GeoInno2026 conference, held from 28 to 30 January, brought together nearly 400 researchers in economics, geography, and innovation. Discussions focused on the role of human networks in driving technological and economic development, the effects of artificial intelligence on labor markets, and the emergence of innovation within cities and regions. Keynote presentations highlighted cutting-edge research on innovation ecosystems and the challenges and opportunities AI presents. This was the first edition of GeoInno in Eastern Europe, with the next event planned for Porto in 2028. Researchers and students are encouraged to explore conference resources and relevant programs in social data science.
