The University of Nyíregyháza hosted an international workshop as part of the AquaUrban project, focusing on innovative urban water management and aquatic ecology. Experts from Nyíregyháza and Kassa shared the latest research and practical solutions for urban rainwater retention and climate resilience, including the development of a new underground rainwater storage system in Nyíregyháza and a “water garden” in Kassa.
Participants toured the university’s labs, learned about collaborative research, and discussed the importance of cross-border cooperation in sustainable urban development. The event, organized with support from the European Union’s Interreg program, underlines Nyíregyháza’s leading role in scientific innovation and environmental sustainability.
