The SPIRIT Award for WOMEN in SCIENCE was presented for the second time in Styria, celebrating outstanding female researchers. The winners impressed with projects ranging from detecting microplastics to innovative blood diagnostics. Over 100 female researchers from 22 institutions had submitted entries, with 25 nominated for the final. Awards were given in three categories: Basic Research, Applied Research Junior Scientist, and Applied Research Senior Scientist.
