The Corporate Mentoring Programme at Hungary’s largest business university, the Budapest Business University (BGE), has seen record participation this spring, closing the 2025 semester with nearly 100 student-mentor pairs—a sharp increase from the 15 pairs who launched the initiative in autumn 2023.
Designed to connect motivated students with leadership potential to mid- and senior-level corporate professionals, the four-month programme continues to be described as a “win-win experience” by both mentees and mentors. The initiative pairs students with industry leaders, offering real-world insight, personalised development, and valuable networking opportunities.
Each cycle of the programme is marked by vibrant opening and closing networking events. The June 2025 closing event featured a fresh format aimed at re-engaging returning mentors and delivering new professional experiences.
Following welcome remarks by Dr Noémi Kalló, Vice-Rector for Education, participants engaged in a burnout-awareness coaching session to help them assess their well-being ahead of the summer break. The programme continued with an energetic business speed networking session, where pairs had just three minutes to introduce themselves and exchange insights based on guided prompts. The event was marked by lively conversation, laughter, and the forging of new friendships and professional ties.
The university has confirmed that the programme will return for the autumn 2025 semester, and invites professionals with leadership backgrounds to apply as mentors via the following link: https://lnkd.in/dT6ScZRn.
