Jácint Farkas, freshly habilitated at Budapest Business University (BGE), spoke about what this academic milestone means for him, calling it a key point to reflect on both his doctoral years and the past four years of research work.
As a philosopher, he highlighted how reaching habilitation at BGE — primarily a business and management doctoral school — was not only a major professional challenge but also a great honor, thanks to the university’s open-minded academic community.
Looking ahead, Farkas plans to deepen his work in travel studies, accessible existence, and existential disability research. He is also developing a unique, self-taught method for learning English designed to help others with dyslexia and dysgraphia. For him, work and relaxation often blend, as he finds joy in parallel reading, traveling, and exploring the world both intellectually and physically.
He summed it up by quoting Confucius: “Choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life.” It’s a philosophy he tries to pass on to his students as well.
