
At a recent forum in Keszthely, Szuzsanna Szabo and Dr Judit Lovasne Avato delivered a standout presentation titled Decarbonizing the World of Hospitality Sustainable Hospitality and the Challenges of Adaptation. The talk centered on reducing the environmental impact of the hospitality industry, with special focus on sustainable packaging.
Szabo outlined the practical advantages of sustainable packaging, including waste reduction, recyclability, and the use of eco-friendly materials, all of which help lower the sector’s carbon footprint. She also addressed the challenges, such as higher material costs, the need to adjust supply chains, and changing consumer habits.
The presentation balanced theory with practical examples, showing how these innovations can be effectively applied in hospitality. It highlighted that sustainable packaging is not only important for environmental reasons but is also becoming a key factor in competitiveness.
Their work significantly contributed to raising awareness and understanding of sustainable packaging among professionals, encouraging further research and practical adoption in the industry.
