Doctoral student Filip Hašpl at the Faculty of Education, Charles University, is researching how secondary school students use scientific observation in biology classes. Supported by the Charles University Grant Agency, his study focuses on linking student observations with prior knowledge to develop critical thinking and scientific literacy. Hašpl also teaches part-time at the Faculty Elementary School and Kindergarten U Studánky in Prague, applying practical insights from the classroom to inform his research. His work highlights the importance of hands-on learning, skill development, and fostering curiosity rather than rote memorization.
