Corvinus University of Budapest expert János Balázs Kocsis has participated as a jury member in a major municipal urban design competition evaluating the Rákosrendező redevelopment project in Budapest.The competition focused on transforming one of Budapest’s largest brownfield areas into a sustainable and livable new urban district, addressing key challenges such as housing demand and climate resilience.Kocsis, an associate professor at the Institute for Sustainable Development, contributed to the professional evaluation of submitted urban planning proposals. The jury included international experts from cities such as Vienna and Prague, highlighting the project’s international scope.The winning concept was selected by a multidisciplinary panel of architects, planners, and urban development specialists, aiming to guide the long-term regeneration of the area.
