Daniel Forsman has been named Alumnus of the Year 2025 by Högskolan i Borås. From 1 March 2026, he takes on the role of Director General and National Archivist at Riksarkivet.Forsman began his academic journey in the late 1990s at the university’s School of Library and Information Science. Although he initially planned to focus on library history, his career developed around strengthening the role of libraries in a changing society, with a strong emphasis on learning, public education, and digital development.He has held several leadership positions throughout his career, including roles at Chalmers University of Technology and as City Librarian in Stockholm. His work has consistently focused on making libraries relevant in the context of technological and societal change.Upon receiving the award, Forsman expressed surprise and gratitude, highlighting the importance of maintaining strong ties between the university and the professional field. He shares the 2025 Alumnus of the Year recognition with fashion designer Louise Linderoth.
