The University of Maribor participated as a partner in the DANOVA NEXT project, which was showcased in the European Parliament as a best practice example of the Interreg Programme. The project enhances accessible travel information and inclusive mobility in the Danube region using advanced technologies. Innovations include an accessibility app for airports and transport hubs, tactile signage for visually impaired users, induction loops for hearing-impaired passengers, tiflomaps of key transport points, and adapted service counters.
The recognition highlights the project’s impact on regional cooperation, inclusive mobility, and sustainable development, and underscores the value of practical, territory-focused solutions within broader EU policy frameworks.
