Rev. Jurij Scsurko, Dean of the Faculty of Theology at the Ukrainian Catholic University in Lviv, visited the Faculty of Theology at Pázmány Péter Catholic University (PPKE) during his stay in Budapest for an international conference co-hosted by PPKE and the University of Public Service.
Following the conference titled “Just War and Just Peace – Religious Armed Conflicts over Natural Resources,” Fr. Scsurko was welcomed by Dr. Krisztián Vincze, Vice-Rector for International and Academic Affairs, and Dr. László Perendy, Dean of the Faculty. The meeting also included Dr. László Gájer, Vice-Dean for International Affairs, and Dr. Bence Tamássy, Head of the Central International Office.
Fr. Scsurko shared his impressions of Budapest, noting this was his first visit to the city, and praised both the location and the conference. Discussions highlighted the universities’ ongoing partnerships and a forthcoming “service-learning” project, through which PPKE students will provide educational support to Ukrainian refugee children as part of their academic curriculum.
Both parties expressed hope for expanding their collaboration in the future.
