University of Graz has introduced a Diversity Buddies initiative to strengthen support for equality and inclusion across campus. The program creates a decentralized network of trained staff members who act as approachable and confidential contacts for students and employees facing barriers related to diversity and equal opportunities.Participants receive training through workshops and work closely with existing equality structures such as the AntiBias Circle and gender equality offices. The initiative aims to make support services more visible and accessible while encouraging open discussions about diversity challenges in everyday university life.By connecting individuals with appropriate counseling services and sharing insights about ongoing issues, the Diversity Buddies program helps promote a more inclusive academic environment.
