In January 2026, Edutus University took a major step in expanding its global presence by sending a high-level delegation to China, visiting Shaoxing Vocational and Technical College and Shihezi University to strengthen strategic partnerships in higher education, technology, and innovation. Led by Rector Dr. Andrea Némethné Gál, the delegation included academic and technical experts who met with university leaders, faculty, and officials to discuss launching bilingual programs in e-commerce and artificial intelligence, introducing Python courses, and developing joint curricula that integrate international standards and practical experience. The collaboration also explored opportunities for student and faculty exchanges, joint research projects, and hosting international robotics, drone, and WRO competitions in China and Southeast Asia, highlighting Edutus’ commitment to hands-on, innovation-driven education. The visits culminated in the ceremonial signing of agreements to establish the Budapest Institute of Engineering and Technology – Shaoxing Vocational and Technical College, and the Shaoxing Institute of Technology and Innovation – Edutus University, with founding plaques unveiled to mark the partnership. Delegation members also gave presentations on Hungary’s higher education system, Edutus’ global initiatives, and the transformative role of artificial intelligence, engaging students and faculty in dynamic discussions about the future of technology and international collaboration. At Shihezi University, talks focused on long-term cooperation in agriculture, IT, AI, business, management, and tourism, with campus tours showcasing modern laboratories and teaching facilities. These efforts not only reinforce China–Hungary academic ties but also demonstrate Edutus University’s strategic vision of providing its students and faculty with globally competitive skills, practical experience, and access to international networks, solidifying its reputation as a forward-looking, innovation-oriented institution in the global higher education landscape.
