Eötvös József College organized its 32nd Summer Academy on June 23-24 in Baja. The event, run by the college’s Institute of Nationality and Foreign Languages, offered professional development for German and Croatian nationality educators, English teachers, preschool teachers, and university students.
Rector Dr. Ibolya Szilágyiné Szinger opened the two-day program, highlighting the importance of educational renewal and nationality-focused teaching. Participants attended plenary lectures, including a talk by Petra Englender-Virth on bilingual education with a European perspective, and then joined specialized workshops. Sessions covered topics like using AI and digital tools in language teaching, fostering nationality identity, and sharing practical classroom methods.
The Summer Academy also welcomed guests from Croatia, including six students from Zagreb, who explored the college alongside attending sessions.
This long-running program continues to strengthen innovative, experience-based, identity-conscious education and builds valuable professional networks for language and nationality educators.
