
Two senior academics have been appointed to Ireland’s newly established National Science Advice Forum, a body created to strengthen the role of scientific evidence in government policy-making. The Forum forms part of Impact 2030: Ireland’s Research and Innovation Strategy, which aims to build structured science advisory systems across Government.The 12-member panel will support the Government Science Advisor by providing expertise across areas such as sustainability, artificial intelligence, computer science, and public policy. The initiative recognises the growing complexity of science advice and the need for diverse disciplinary expertise in decision-making.The Forum is expected to play a key role in shaping evidence-based policy across national priorities in the years ahead.
