The Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Ship Technology at the Gdańsk University of Technology has introduced a new postgraduate program titled Offshore Industry, launched in collaboration with the Naval Academy in Gdynia. The initiative responds to the growing demand for qualified professionals in the rapidly developing offshore sector. Recruitment for the program began on August 1.
According to program coordinator Wojciech Olszewski, MSc Eng., students will gain qualifications in both conventional and renewable energy, national security, and offshore industrial systems. The curriculum includes offshore oil and gas engineering, offshore wind energy, hydrogen production and transport, as well as CO₂ capture, transport, and storage technologies. Thanks to the partnership with the Naval Academy, participants will also study the protection of offshore energy infrastructure.
Graduates will be equipped to work across critical segments of the offshore supply chain, including:
- offshore wind energy,
- hydrogen technologies related to marine energy storage and processing,
- carbon dioxide emissions reduction and sustainable innovations.
The program also welcomes professionals from energy companies, heavy industry, and service providers seeking to transition into or better understand the offshore industry and its infrastructure protection.
