Ragnar Klenell, the artist who designed the ceremonial glass apples awarded during graduation ceremonies at Karlstad University, has passed away. The university extends its heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, and loved ones.Klenell was an established glass artist who founded Edsbjörke Studio outside Sunne in the late 1970s. Throughout his career, he created numerous glass artworks, including the symbolic “Apple of Knowledge.” Since 2006, this glass apple has been presented as a graduation gift at Karlstad University’s commencement ceremonies, becoming a cherished academic tradition.The university highlights its long and meaningful collaboration with Klenell over the years.
