The Department of Applied Sustainability at Széchenyi István University is inviting high school students interested in environmental protection to a free, eight-session program. The High School Sustainability Summer School will focus on the environmental engineering profession, the cities of the future, climate change, and biodiversity conservation. Registration is open until February 18.
The university’s seven-semester Environmental Engineering undergraduate program equips students with a broad scientific foundation, knowledge of local to global environmental challenges, and practical skills in environmentally friendly engineering methods and technologies.
The spring semester program will run in Győr, taking place in the university’s lecture halls, laboratories, and school garden. Students will explore topics such as society’s role in sustainability, the environmental engineering profession, climate change, future cities, and biodiversity through hands-on, practical activities.
Tamás Füzi, assistant professor and lead organizer, emphasized that the sessions are aimed at students committed to environmental awareness and eager to experience university life. Classes will be held every other Wednesday afternoon, with small, practical groups.
Participation is free but requires pre-registration by February 18 via the provided link.
