Pécs, Hungary – June 19, 2025 – The University of Pécs has once again secured its place in the prestigious QS World University Rankings, marking a steady upward trend in its global standing. According to the latest results published today by Quacquarelli Symonds (QS), the University of Pécs now ranks in the 741–750 band, an improvement from its 771–780 position last year and 801–850 the year before.
In a significant national achievement, the University of Pécs earned the highest ranking among Hungarian universities in two critical categories: learning experience and international student representation. These areas reflect the institution’s commitment to academic excellence and global engagement.
The QS World University Rankings, established in 2004, assess universities based on nine key criteria, including academic reputation, employer reputation, international faculty and students, and sustainability. This year, QS evaluated data from nearly 8,500 institutions worldwide, with 1,501 universities making it to the final list.
Rector Attila Miseta expressed pride in the university’s performance, stating:
“It’s definitely a positive development that our university improved its score in all nine evaluation criteria compared to last year. I’m also pleased that our university ranked highest among Hungarian institutions in two categories, both of which are key indicators of strategic importance to us.”
In addition to the top national performance in specific categories, the university showed notable gains in reputation, internationalization, and sustainability metrics.
