Faculty members from the Folk Dance Department of the Hungarian Dance University (Magyar Táncművészeti Egyetem, MTE) played a prominent role at the 8th Arts Pedagogy Conference. They contributed to key sessions, including a roundtable on the challenges of 21st-century folk dance education and a book launch featuring three new academic publications authored by department instructors.
The panel discussion explored how digital tools and evolving learning habits are reshaping folk dance pedagogy, while the newly introduced books—Introduction to Ethnography by Krisztina Dóka, Rhythm Skill Development Exercises by Péter Lévai, Dávid Dudás, and Nóra Oláh, and Lányi 100, a tribute volume to Ágoston Lányi—highlight both theoretical and practical aspects of folk dance education.
Notable participants in the roundtable included Gyöngyvér Hortobágyi, Head of the Department, Henrik Kovács, creator of the Lippogó method, and Ádám Mikulics, a teacher at the Nyíregyháza Arts Vocational School. The session emphasized the need for deeper research in the history of folk dance pedagogy as a path to professional growth.
