The international research program “Researching Imaginaries” concluded in Gothenburg on May 23, 2025, marking the final stage of a three-part collaboration among the Hungarian University of Fine Arts (HUFA), the University of Gothenburg’s HDK-Valand Academy of Art and Design, and the Krakow University of Art.
The program focused on the role of artistic imagination in research and featured joint projects, lectures, and group work involving imagery, music, and film. HUFA doctoral students worked alongside peers from Sweden and Poland, guided by internationally acclaimed curators and academics such as Charles Esche and Andrea Phillips, as well as HUFA faculty Dr. Szabolcs KissPál and Dr. Tünde Varga.
The week-long collaboration fostered interdisciplinary artistic reflection and concluded with student presentations and open discussions on social and political imaginaries in the arts.
