
University of Sopron organized a special spring semester opening event to welcome newly arrived international students. The program celebrated cultural diversity and helped students from different countries connect with each other and with Hungarian traditions.During the event, students learned about Hungarian culture, history, holidays, and everyday customs. A highlight of the evening was a musical performance of the traditional Hungarian folk song “Tavaszi szél vizet áraszt,” performed by students of the Benedek Elek Faculty of Pedagogy with piano accompaniment from an international student from Kazakhstan.The program also featured presentations by international students who introduced their home countries, including Germany, France, and Brazil. Additional performances included music, singing, and a nunchaku demonstration by a student from Peru, creating a lively multicultural atmosphere.The evening concluded with a traditional Hungarian folk dance performance and dance house led by the Ürmös Folk Dance Ensemble, where participants joined in dancing together. The event highlighted friendship, cultural exchange, and community building among students from around the world.
