
Orlando Rodrigues, president of the Instituto Politécnico de Bragança, has been awarded the prestigious Professor Honoris Causa title by Universidade Tecnológica Federal do Paraná.The honorary degree was presented during a ceremony on March 6, 2026, at the Curitiba campus of the Brazilian university. The title is one of the highest academic distinctions granted to individuals who have made outstanding contributions to science, education, or institutional development.The recognition highlights Rodrigues’ long-standing efforts in promoting higher education and internationalization, particularly his role in strengthening academic and scientific cooperation between Portugal and Brazil. His work has helped build strong partnerships and collaborative projects between Portuguese institutions and Brazilian universities, including UTFPR.The distinction further reinforces institutional ties between the two universities and acknowledges Rodrigues’ international academic leadership.
