On the occasion of the national holiday, László Szelestei Nagy, literary historian, doctor of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, and professor emeritus of Pázmány Péter Catholic University, was awarded the Commander of the Cross of the Hungarian Order of Merit, Civil Division.
The award honors his outstanding contributions to university education, scientific research, and particularly his work in Hungarian literary history. Professor Szelestei Nagy also served as the former dean of the Faculty of Humanities at Pázmány Péter Catholic University.
