Researchers at the Technical University of Denmark (DTU) and UC Berkeley, together with spinout company OptoCeutics, have developed a non-medical light therapy that enhances gamma brainwaves linked to cognitive improvement in Alzheimer patients. Early clinical trials at Zealand University Hospital in Roskilde indicate benefits for individuals with mild to moderate Alzheimer’s, improving memory and speech. The device is designed to provide these effects without visible flickering, minimizing side effects. Larger ongoing studies aim to confirm results and expand potential use in homes and care facilities.
